Purchase of Land

Finding the ideal piece of land is critical in farming. We will evaluate the soil’s acidity and nutrients, along with monitoring the farmland’s drainage. Agriculture property entails a lot more than just having good soil. You’ll need a farm infrastructure to assist you in growing and selling crops.

Sandalwood can be mainly grown in different climates with moderate rainfall, full sunlight, and generally dry weather throughout the year. They are most commonly grown in tropical and subtropical regions. However, sandalwood flourishes in many soil types, including sandy, red clay, and clay-rich black soils.

Land Preparation

Land to be ripped to a depth of 40CMs followed by deep ploughing which help in root penetration and weeding. Identifying borewell points and places for ponds and lakes to support irrigation to entire project. Identifying strategic location within project to build labour quarters, cold storage place, entry and exit points, roads, creation of clusters, etc. Based on the soil test, we will select which horticulture plants to be planted  in a particular cluster and carry out the drip irrigation and other set up.

Planting of Sapling

Saplings are accessible from the government as well as private nurseries. We plan to order 2,80,000 seedlings from reputed nurseries. We also ensure that nurseries produce high-quality saplings of seeds sourced from 30+ years of mother trees for a set period. This technique helps to reduce dead, ill, infertile, and impotent trees, among other things.

Drip Irrigation

Sandalwood trees can be cultivated throughout the year if adequate irrigation is available. While considering the water requirements, the irrigation must be done based on plants age. Especially in the summer when it’s scorching outside.

The most efficient water delivery technology for growing plants is drip irrigation. It provides the proper amount of water and nutrients to the plant roots, ensuring that each plant receives just what it requires to thrive.

Manure and Fertilizer

Organic fertilizers work effectively with any agricultural crop. Fertilizers and manure are essential sources of nutrients for crop production. Sandalwood must be grown without the use of chemical fertilizers and pesticides. To optimize the benefits of both, we create fertilizer and manure in-house.

Multi crop

Multi-Crop to Support Trees

Multi-cropping is the technique of sowing two or more crops on the same piece of land during the same time. It contributes to the preservation of soil fertility and resistance to price fluctuation.

We cultivate an intermediate crop mix of agricultural, forest, and horticultural crops such as Guava, Custard apple, Dragon fruit, Avocado. However, they are profitable after four years.

Harvesting expects to begin from the age of 15 years. The most valuable oil-bearing section of the tree is heartwood, and it’s concentrated in the butt and lower part of the tree. We are using advanced harvesting procedures to maximize the recovery of this vital part of the tree.

We work with a well-known, experienced, and technically competent team to perform a quantity check and maintain the plants. The first year requires thorough weeding, followed by regular weeding at intervals. We are engaging nearby Agriculture Universities and private consultants to make sure get a good harvest and troubleshoot any diseases. Seeking guidance from IWST to adopt newer security technologies to safeguard trees from theft.
